With warm weather coming this week what's going to be the best bypass of the eroded area along the lake? I'm thinking the west side of the South Lagoon between Fullerton and North Avenue (specifically the bridge crossing Lake Shore Drive) shouldn't add too many extra minutes and won't require any street crossings.

All the more awkward is everybody can still board the 151 and grab whatever handrail. The aisle widths and seat configurations don't all work out to 6'. See also the red line. Meanwhile: https://wgntv.com/news/coronavirus/cpd-clear-lakefront-hours-after-... Solo on a bike isn't congregating, but it isn't staying home either. It seems that because others were congregating, it closed at least for the evening. Anybody else heard any other updates?
CHICAGO — Chicago Police shooed large crowds of people away from the lakefront Wednesday evening and people won’t be welcome back until the COVID-19 crisis subsides.
In an email to residents Thursday morning, Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) said the Lakefront Trail, park and beaches from Ardmore south will be closed to public access beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday. An end date to the closure was not available.
“This includes parkland east of Marine Drive, as well as Berger Park,” Osterman said. “This order has been put in place to ensure social distancing between individuals and to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.”

LOGAN SQUARE — The 606’s Bloomingdale Trail has been shut down, according to Ald. James Cappleman (46th).
In an email to constituents, Cappleman said starting Thursday the trail will be shut down, along with all of Chicago’s lakefront and adjoining parks, the Chicago riverwalk and all field houses and playgrounds.

Yep. Cops were out this morning at every access point keeping people off or kicking people off the trail. My 45 minute commute took 1h 15min by streets instead.
I rode the trail yesterday evening, apparently right before the closure happened, and couldn't believe how many people were out on the trail. That's... not social distancing, folks. I figured something like this would happen.
I've been at my girlfriend's place for the last several days and commuting to work from there. A couple of times I've been to slow in the morning to ride to work, so I drove her car, but I rode on Wednesday, which takes me on the LFP from Navy Pier to 35th and then south on King Dr. to Englewood; there were very few people on the trail in the morning and, on the south side, even in the afternoon it wasn't particularly crowded, though the groups of people I saw who were crowding themselves were always young people. Sigh. I don't mind commuting on streets, though. At least I can ride!
