Hey, Just dropping a quick note here to say I am still around, still biking, and enjoying exploring D.C. on two wheels. Sorry I dropped off for a bit. I think after over 2.5 years of running The Chainlink, not taking vacations, and starting a new job (in a new city), I really needed a break. Sorry for the lack of warning and lack of emails.
There is a lot of love coming on the horizon. I am hoping to get settled (finally) into an apartment, transitioning CL to another member of the community for the day-to-day love, and planning for our big ten year anniversary.

Thanks for understanding - it was nice to just have that time without any pressure to come back so that I could adjust. My move has not been without numerous hiccups but still awesome anyways.

sometimes I like to fold and sometimes I like to fork. It's not a competition, pizza is good...ok, great...lots of ways...thin...fat...yum. When push comes to shove I like fork pizza, Chicago pizza, a little more, but it is way more caloric so I measure when I indulge. Why be parochial and close yourself from a delicious piece of geometry, whether it be more two dimensional or more three dimensional? (Now I think I know what I am having for lunch. hmm...thick or thin?)
For 18 years I was never as impressed by the pizza in the DC area as I am by a good Chicago slice. That said, I've also never eaten pizza in New York. I've had pizza in Italy which I guess would be closer to New York style. My family is Sicilian and we would make a yeast rising dough and put everything together from scratch but tomatoes were from a can...a good can of San Marzano tomatoes from the right label and grown in rich Neopolitan volcanic soil near Monte Vesuvio has an unmistakable and exciting taste.
There are Italian eateries in the DC area run by Italians who are principally in charge of the entire process of creating delicious and modern Italian cuisine. To them pizza is a set of rules for a particular kind of street food. There are so many facets to Italian cooking that pizza is not their culinary focus but a reliable source of income. Finding these places in and around DC and dining at them is a very special treat. #nationalpastaday
I am loving the pizza discussion. I try to limit my pizza intake but yeah, finding a good slice is a wonderful thing!
Places to eat: I've heard great things about Busboys and Poets. I thoroughly enjoyed Bistro Bohem when I was in DC a few years ago. Have a great time exploring!
I live so close to Busboys and Poets. It's a very rainy weekend but I need to make it over to there soon. Thanks for the reminder. They look like they have some excellent vegetarian brunch options (I'm a new vegetarian w/some seafood cheats and that makes it super helpful). Thanks again for these tips. Slowly making my way out and about (been so busy with work, trying to slowly get the apartment sorted, and the dogs settled).
