Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)

My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane

With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming

#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)

#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.

We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

Excellent! thanks Lisa! I was looking at the "A-Z list of services" which was not listing anywhere near as much stuff as this one.

That's a recent (and very welcome) 311 change. :)

I use SeeClickFix often and wish that reporting snow issues was an option. I sent them feedback through the app asking them to add it.  If they get similar requests from a bunch of us, maybe they'll do it.

Excellent Idea!

I really like the app and would love to use it to be more specific about issues. Sometimes I'll pick the closest category to report something even though it is not exactly correct.

If they can. I just tried to check the status of a report I submitted yesterday and got this:

http://servicetracker.cityofchicago.org/requests/16-00090793

That list of supported services looks a lot like the list of available services to report on both SeeClickFix and ChicagoWorks apps. Note that the Service Tracker is distinct from Chicago's implementation of Open311, but still, given that list I wonder if the apps are limited to same tiny subset of 311 services as the Service Tracker?

I LOVE the ChicagoWorks app. I do wish it included more categories, but it's fantastic for what it does. I even get a text from the city when my issue is resolved ;)

So glad to hear the app works well. Woot!

Done.  Thanks.

Bus in the bike lane on northbound Elston just south of Ashland.

One has to wonder what a bus was doing on Elston at all.

I sometimes see buses on Elston but further north. They're usually going to/from the bus garage at Bryn Mawr.

Yes, I frequently see them driving to/from the garage on Elston, but typically further north. This one was idling and empty. ???
