There are plenty of seats and its pretty comfortable. If the show is solidly booked seats might be tough.  I think if you called in advance to get a live body you should get some sympathy. If the theater is closed maybe you can try the pub. It looks like its open for  lunch. http://www.maynestage.com/the-pub/

We went a. few years back to a burlesque show and everyone was seated, with table service. I guess it depends on the type of show.

ETA.it appears to be a rock show tonight, so my answer may not apply

Neither - there is a standing-room floor (for dancing, etc.) in the center of the main level, With seating surrounding it. The seating consists of a banquette/bench with small tables on either side and at the rear of the main floor, some larger booths at the rear, small cocktail tails behind on either side of the main floor behind the bench seating, and 'normal' concert seating on the upper level.

As far as I know all shows there are general admission, so I would advise getting there early to claim a pair of seats.

I have only been there for jazz and bluegrass. I think the vibe and arrangement will differ for a rock show.  I think the other comments are probably correct. I guess the tables  for a more nightclub setting that I saw will be removed.

Dunno if you made it out Friday night, but I would think you and your friend found seats, since JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound simply propelled people's asses up and out on the dance floor. Great music at a great venue. Hope you all had fun.
