I ask because for decades now my bicycling has been fairly vanilla. Adding a basic bicycle light has been as far as I've gone.

But I recently kicked in for a bike-crate system at Kickstarter (the Fietsklik system; it would seem to meet my needs, plus I was amused that the inspiration behind it was to solve the problem of transporting a case of beer), and I was wondering what other cool and unusual things were out there that people put on their bicycles. A camera system maybe? An elaborate LED display?

What's out there on bicycles that you don't normally see in the wild?

I have one of those. It uses a Cateye mount. I used to use it all the time. However, I now use Contigo coffee cups and they are too wide to fit the holder.

I've seen people put coffee holders on their handlebars.   Always thought that was neat so I bought one at Let's Roast a few weeks ago. Now I need to install it.

Only for a couple of weeks I like them they aren't really bright enough to replace a headlight but I do it more cause it makes people more aware of me when riding at night.

Nice. I looked at them for a long time, but ultimately decided on a different set of lights. How long have you been using them?

I just put on a set of RevoLights and boy oh boy does Harley Quinn get a lot of looks cause of them.

Maybe there is an adjustable version on the market. If not, someone should start a kickstarter for it.

I consider the one an extension of the other

With apologies to your butt, I'd say a (great sounding) sound system made out of a briefcase is more interesting.

A Gumby action figure zip-tied to my head tube because no one would bike with me in the winter... No one except Gumby and Pokey

Aside from the rear stoker repurposed from an old broken cruiser frame, a happy little dangling rear mulit colored led light.

There is a lot to be said that's interesting about my

terribly over thought city bike, Byron.

The essentials are important.

Seen great, not heard great "my butt".

I haven't like the way the original mount for my Planet Bike headlight directed its beam.  This past winter, I went out to design a new mount that bolted to the fork crown.  My first design was made of .008 " sheet steel.  It was way too flimsy.  My second try was of .024" aluminum.  It was fatiguing right near the strut.  I took my idea to the Wheel & Sprocket Bike Expo at State Fair Park.  I used the upper piece from my second try and Julian Kegel  found an old steel reflector bracket that was clearly strong enough and twisted the top to allow me to mount the top piece.  Thanks to Julian, it worked.  I used a bolt, star washers, and wing nut to join the two pieces and give me adjustability.  Here's the evolution of this design.

Easy to install.  By far my favorite accessory, especially on brisk mornings!  have to thank my daughter, who was the first person I know to buy one.  I miss it when I ride my road bike.
