A refreshing alternative to those horrible stories where people have to buy or steal their bikes back.

This is great. I think it's excellent that it was returned after 4 years. After hearing rumors of these warehouses of stolen bikes that sit for a few years, possibly to help people forget about them, I'm curious with all of the new bicycle GPS devices(BikeSpike, Helios, etc.), how many of these places will be busted.
Great question igz . I think it is important to know that this Fuji was brought in, by a customer, to the repair department at Working bikes and not as a donation.

how did it make its way to WorkingBikes?
Thanks for this reminder. I long ago gave up hope that my Univega, stolen four years ago, would ever reappear, but it does make me wonder whether, if I can find the police report, I can file a CSBR report for such an old theft. And it prompted me to register my current bikes.
Awesome news. Motivated me to finally file a CSBR report for my bike stolen in late 2011. (I would have done it asap after the theft but I didn't know about CSBR until over a year later.)
+1!!

If it wasn't for all of the volunteers who keep the Chicago stolen bike registry up to date. None of this would be possible. Thanks H, Kevin C. & all the other volunteers who help out.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate that was not the first time this particular bike was sold at the Swap O Rama.
