Hello Chainlinkers, if you were at the Swap on Saturday (as an attendee, not a vendor), we'd love your feedback in our survey.

I posted this at the end of the day yesterday...just giving it one bump and then it can die. Thanks, Chainlinkers.

It was a few miles farther south than I normally venture but otherwise was a great set-up.  If you could get the city to offer some space downtown on a Saturday (when it's warmer and possibly outside) and remove the entry fee I think it would be even bigger.  Perhaps set up a guarded bike corral for parking, as well.

It was great to have a central location that was easier for folks from all parts of the city to reach - worked out great. Good selection of vendors, presentations and demonstrations. The only weak point for me was being unable to get a real lunch. If I'd known that nothing more substantial than pastries would be available, I would have brought a lunch.

you should get the food trucks there

Great idea!

I thought about the food after I did the survey, too - we were lucky we could at least get something (cheetos in my case) from the swim meet moms, but I agree with Anne, just a heads up about the food situation would have made it easier.

Maybe next year, same place but invite the food trucks and call it the bike swap *and picnic*!

Thanks all, much appreciated. We had some food lined up that feel through, we know that's an issue to fix for next year. Thanks so much!

Did the beer fall through also? ;) I know it raises insurance costs but I think in the end it would be a profit center, not an expense. Plus it helps lubricate sales.

You all must have missed Heritage Bikes booth with Glazed and Infused doughnuts. Man, they are good! What else does man need? ;)

More donuts since they were out when I was there around three-thirty.

I brought my carbon emitter, when I got there parking lot was full, thought everyone else was going to ride the bike. It was a good thing, found on street parking 2 blocks away for free, sure beats $9.

More vendors needed. Location was fine, but I was spoiled by the Swap in Palatine - free parking AND (what seemed like) tons more vendors with far more items. Paying for parking plus a higher entry fee was a bit of a turn off, but I will still support the Chicago Swap.

No, I didn't miss it. I enjoyed my donut and cider, but would have liked a sandwich, too.
