The ride meets at 10 am at the Wicker Park fountain (NOT Bum Island), 1425 N. Damen,
departing at 10:15.
This is a roughly 100-mile tour of oddball locations around the edge of Chicago. The ride moves at about 10 MPH with plenty of stops for sightseeing, snacking and skinny-dipping.
Here's a write-up that will give you an idea of what to expect: http://tinyurl.com/perimeterride
No pre-registration needed or ride fee, but a $10 donation to the Greater Chicago Food Depository is requested on the day of the ride.
The ride ends some time after midnight at The Handlebar.

Tinyurl isn't working for me
Last year was a great time, this year I plan on NOT riding a century in the morning before catching up with the ride. My bike seat and I were not friends for several days after that 200 miles.

Doesn't Colnago make an upright 3-speed with a wide, sprung seat?

I don't think he is doing it this year.
If I recall correctly, John posted/emailed that the Frozen/Molten Snot 2012 was the last ride he'd organize. Someone else needs to pick up the slack!
Right. I'd be glad to advise (and maybe even ride) if someone else leads it.
But stay tuned for a possible Chicago Metropolitan Perimeter Ride in August.
