I really love your photo updates, ad trying to identify where the pictures were taken.   Thanks!

LFP from Hyde Park to the Loop is very ridable this morning.  While there was a dusting of snow and some icy spots, the LFP was basically salted the entire way.  A nice ride.

I did ride yesterday after getting feedback on the LFP here.  The path was fine until Fullerton. The beach areas were wind and ice swept and were barricaded.  I took Clark down to the loop from Fullerton and State down to Hyde Park. The city streets were open and easy.  The salt is a love hate thing.  No ice and easy cycling. However, I have to attend to the bike tonight. She's a salty dog.

Beautiful weather for the commute this morn.

Do any of you ride Milwaukee ave (N4500) to the Loop?  Is that a death wish?

I ride down Milwaukee from Belmont to the loop (then the path to U of C).  I leave between 6am and 8am depending when I wake up and its not too bad.  I should add the earlier you leave the better it is, less traffic.

We might have a shifter cable somewhere around our place- or maybe even a bike to loan you :) Oh, and I'll be fixing my lights sometime this week, btw, so we'll be getting your tools back to you soon.

Busted up the shifter cable on the way in.  Steady 75 GI's was a lot for these vintage knees to handle on the way home.  Yes I own a salty steel dog too.

I ride Milwaukee to the Loop but only from North Avenue south.  Usually starting just before 8am.  I enjoy it most of the time and it conveniently ends right where I pick up the Kinzie protected bike lane.

Elston is always a good alternate route like Cameron said.

MK that's most generous, thanks for the offer.  I'll have things sorted out Thursday.  Thanks again!

I'm intrigued with the hub generator and can see myself moving in that direction for a commuter.

It's sounds great to do away with batteries, when the generator and other components work as advertised.  You'll have learned a bunch when the repairs are complete.  Then you can teach the rest of us.

Thanks, Joe. Each cyclist seems to have different reasons for viewing the photos. Comments like yours give me the motivation to keep firing my shutter.

I "rode" Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Ha. I was about to say - you look overdressed!

Good commute this morning. It's my first time back on a bike in a week; I was trying to kick a cold that I had picked up. I was starting to get restless.
