Gin Kilgore takes on The Suburban Cyclist tonight at 7 on WTTW

Chicago Critical Mass and Bike Winter stalwart, and all-around righteous dame Gin Kilgore will mop the floor in a debate with The Suburban Cyclist this evening at 7 on WTTW's Chicago Tonight talk show on channel 11:

Check out this The Suburban Cyclist's recent, extremely long rant against Chicago Critical Mass: http://www.chicagonow.com/urban-cyclist/2011/09/critical-massholes-...
Boy, I wouldn't know where to start setting this guy straight.

I thought he was the "Urban Cyclist"

Hes been at it longer than most people have had teeth and newbies just piss him off. ;P

Go, Gin!!!  You'll do great.
Well, he's got a pretty suburban attitude. (Apologies to my friends in Berwyn, Oak Park and Evanston. Actually scratch Berwyn. Those Neanderthals took down the Car Spike.)

Set my DVR.Great to have someone as awesome as Gin to represent Chicago area bicyclists.
I am SO EXCITED! GO GIN! Can't wait to watch :D
Gin, Ethan, nice job. Scott's thesis devolved into monetizing Critical Mass? What a puss. Real time scoring: Active Trans 1; Critical Mass 1; The Urban Cyclist -1. Anyone know what the spread was?
I agree.  Well done!  The troll's only positive moment was in favor of bike boulevards.

Shifty Face kept on bringing up the issue that police escorts Critical Mass and that the city cannot afford that.

Question: Did anyone involved in CCM invite or formally request those cops? Or do they show up because it is good policy (an ounce of prevention etc.)? In the latter case Shifty Face is barking up the wrong tree. He should take his complaints to mayor Emanuel.

I think they repeat it later tonight.  Not sure if they put the shows on their website.
his blog is a bunch of hate rambeling,,,,while still claiming to be an "IDEAL" cyclist himself. the hipsters are not the true cyclist cause they are just too cool,,,while the lycra cyclist are just lance wannabes,,,but he is a real cyclist cause he commutes in a ten dollar t shirt and a four hundred dollar trek. can't we all just be cyclist?
I'm working on getting it converted and uploaded now.

Did anyone manage to record it? I don't know either of these people but am now really curious.

We do just fine without the cops (and I think every cop who regularly "escorts" CCM knows that.)

Whether requested or not-- we are taxpayers and we pay for them already.

Kookbiscuits shouldn't be allowed to drive public debate with kookbiscuity ideas.
