Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)
My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.
Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane
With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming
#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)
#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.
We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

The city increased the number of its parking enforcement aides on bike by 60 percent in the past two years.
CHICAGO — Fines for vehicles blocking bike lanes represent a tiny fraction of the city’s overall revenue from ticketing, but that could change with a new crowdsourcing initiative and more ticket writers on bikes.
There are more than 200 miles of on-street bike lanes in Chicago and city law prohibits driving and parking in them, a violation that carries a $150 fine.
City data shows the number of tickets issued for vehicles blocking bike lanes increased by 25 percent from 2016 to 2017, as the city added more lanes and implemented a new 311 code so that people riding bikes can easily report a “Vehicle Parking in a Bike Lane.”
From 2015 until June 30, the city issued 11,105 tickets to vehicles parked illegally in bike lanes, and brought in $1,192,711 in revenue from the ticketing.

Then how is it that I *never* see cars getting ticketed? If there's that much money being collected you'd think the police would be on the low-hanging fruit like flies on... ripe bananas.
South bound on State Street this morning just before 8 am - between Cullerton & 21st. IL plates AV 29106. This is one of my favorite Chicago motorist moves - in spite of ample parking spaces within 10 feet - block the bicycle lane. Sorry to say - it's often city employees doing this in my experience. On the bright side - today - the Dearborn bike lane start to finish (north to south) - NO cars blocking the bike lane - a minor miracle. :)
