It happened again today.
A flock of Canadian Geese were crossing the LFT as I approached. I've quacked at them mercilessly but most of them just ignore me.
I know it's only a matter of time before one of them pulls a gun on me.

You can kinda tell the American ones. They're more obese, louder, cruder and generally more mean spirited than the Canadians, and they don't pay taxes either. Maybe they're smarter?
But you really have to be careful around the ones that wear shades, sport teardrop tattoos on their beaks and have a suspicious bulge under their wing feathers. You see some of them around town driving BMW's. Cops won't even get near them and believe me, around this time of year, you don't want to either.
Yes, if they're Canadian, a stern talking-to should be enough to make them reconsider their behavior.
It wouldn't surprise me. Geese are jerks. Look at how they pick on everybody. They're lucky they're protected under the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
Hmmm, didn't know that, although I was aware of the jerk factor. I figured they just didn't taste very good. Foie gras, anyone?
Canada (not Canadian) geese can attack. My son was attacked by one when he got too close to their nest. Mama goose flew at him and used the elbow of her wing as a club to whack him. He got six stitches in his head.
Whoa.
I'm beginning to have second thoughts now about Canada. I was thinking I'd better get moving before they start constructing their wall. I always wanted to learn French.
Quebec is irritating because all the automatic devices use French abbreviations, so good luck parking.
After reading this thread, no one can say that cyclists don't have a sense of humor. Quite entertaining!
I start to steadily ring my bell as I approach, and continue as I pass. They always move quickly out of the way. No problem. Works in the car with the horn as well. Just slowly creep up on them with steady toots. I never could understand why people will sit and back up traffic while geese block the road. I am not advocating hitting them, but with the above methods, they will remove themselves from harm on their own.
I guess a little firm but gentle persuasion is most effective. Good to know, thx.
