"Good idea to make it easier to clean and provide a bit of protection against the elements. Definitely on the frame. Unlikely to be necessary on spokes these days as modern spokes are generally made of stainless steel. "

Waxing your bike
HiI was reading a book about biking that recommended waxing the frame, spokes, and chain in winter to help keep out salt and reduce rust on steel bikes.Have any of you tried this? Suburban question: Why are so many cyclists crossing Rt 14 at Dundee Rd in Palatine?
Hi I drive past Dundee Rd on Route 14 in Barrington/Palatine a few times a week. It's a strange intersection, as Dundee as on/off ramps to get onto 14. I frequently see cyclists crossing Route 14 which is super dangerous because of the speed.I know Deer Grove Forest Preserve is near by, but is there a common reason why someone would do that? Do a lot of people bike in Deer Grove?Curious.BrianSee More
