In the past year of living in Chicago, I've biked about eight miles (sixteen round-trip) on an almost daily basis for school and work. In this time, I've experimented with a number of different routes, taking back streets, main roads, bike paths (for example, Chicago's 606 and Lakefront Trails), and even a few sidewalks - although I've since learned this is a punishable offense!
