I'm in the market for a TOURING BIKE

sooo i recently missed out on an opportunity to buy an old Trek 520, and now i'm wondering what i missed out on...i want to do some weekend trip bike-camping this summer/fall and need something with gears, and rack mounts, and brakes. All i see on on craigslist is conversion, conversion, conversion... please tell me someone still has a cheap in-tact road bike i can give a good home--and a good butt--to?

yeah....mark and i left the whirlaway and went to my friend mikes, where we drank more and watched mystery science theater. soon after i woke up at my place. as for those bars, i'm keeping them for whenever i get around to owning a touring bike. theyre really nice though, i took normal cork tape and added a couple coats of shellac, then sanded them down a little bit. they feel/look just like leather

no, my front isn't machined, as you can tell by the thick layer of brake gunk on it. im actually trading them over craigslist for a set of machined non deep v's (its getting annoying having to find long stemmed tubes....and to not be a dork anymore)
