Today was better than earlier this week, but how is everyone else dealing with the chill?

yup, washington to randolph-- I try to speed up on the street, and pray that I don't get hit--sometimes those buses come very close! I And, yes, lots of obsticles on the sidewalks. My determining factor, if there are people on the sidewalk, I will bike the street. No people, i take the side walk. I actually had someone tell me, "aren't you a bit old to be biking on the side walk (this was on North Ave--another not biker friendly street). So I guess, I'm a bit conscious of side walk biking--but for me it beats the alternative--of course, I'm talking "rush hour" with bumper to bumper cars on the street. One or two cars, I can "take them on!" I work at UIC, as a dietitian, I hope to post a nutrition for bikers blog soon..

is it the stretch next to the united center? I use to speed up for that area and hog a whole lane as much as I could

I communte from bucktown to UIC--straight down Damen..not bad except for a stretch of road, where there the bike lane stops for about two long blocks--sometimes I ride on the sidewalk, just not to get hit by the cars wizzing by...suggestions?

From Hyde Park - and other near the lake communities to the Loop - this city is built for cycling commuters.

I was sick for a while too, I tried to ride, but it ends up making me feel worse. The best part is getting back on your bike and getting to ride hard again.

I am so sad I have been so sick these last two weeks that I have only ridden to work a few times.

Its really strange how taking the CTA instead of riding to school/work alters the way I look at the day.

they are brand new bontrager hard cases. I thought they were suppose to be bad ass, but while riding from the gray stripe the tire looks out of round. I know the wheel is strait!

I popped a tire today, no it wasn't a flat, the tube somehow went out the side between the rim and tire LOL than exploded. I have never seen that before.
