Many of the drivers didn't seem to be paying any attention. The cyclist also failed to anticipate many predictable situations. Jeff has a point. Anticipating and using the brakes a little more can make a big difference. It doesn't make the drivers right. It just helps to avoid most crashes.

WA as in Western Australia. The only real concerns I saw was the truck that nearly hooked him which could have slotted in behind the bike, and the car with a learner's plate that dove in to a bus stop. The rest were all near misses; far nearer than any situation I would allow to happen. In every case there was ample warning of what each car was doing and this guy was either completely oblivious or crazy.

Darwin Awards video presentation. Its a helmet cam so we get a good idea what he was looking at. At first I thought the vehicle that hit him came upon him awfully fast until I realized he simply didn't look that way.

Why on earth would you be riding a tri bike on a busy street like that? I kept watching to see when he was braking and he didn't feel the need to slow down even when cars were attempting to turn. Bike lane or not we need to share the road equally. A bike lane does not mean right of way through all intersections.

The truck and the car swerving into the bike lane were the only real dangers I saw. Everything else could have been easily prevented by not riding like a dufus.
