You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.
There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.
I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!
I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.
Keep riding like a tard!
love,
gabe
Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

Pepsi can? Maybe she was making a misguided peace offering ala Kendall Jenner.
To the cyclist in the pink helmet who crossed the Milwaukee/Kinzie/Desplaines intersection at around 7:30 this morning, against cross-traffic and as if protected by an invisible forcefield, I can only say, "?????"
I must have been there the same time as you. Could not believe what I was watching.
To the Dumbass in Wheaton that had no flashlight and was walking in the center of the path.
I'm not sorry I hit you full force with Elly!
She is a tank and is okay!
Me on the other hand? Not so much.
I got knocked off of Elly so hard I got unclipped from my pedals :(
I'm going to have a sore shoulder and road rash on my right hand side for a while :(
You did keep asking if I was okay.
I kept saying no and do I look okay?
You kept saying sorry.
I wasn't having any of it
I just told him next time have a flashlight.
I told you this is why I'm lit up like a Christmas tree!
I didn't apologize to you once!
Already took a shower last night needed to get all the pebbles out :(
I took some pain meds last night and watched TV to zone out of the pain!
It didn't work. I'm still in pain today.
I can only hope you are in more pain!
That is what you get for not wearing anything reflective.
You didn't have a flashlight on.
You were wearing dark clothes.
And this was 9:45 @ night on a darkened section of the path!
No external lights anywhere near this section of the path!
And you have me lit up like a freaking Christmas tree!
XndeX,
People walking, whether on multi-use paths or on sidewalks on city streets, do not have a burden of responsibility to wear reflective clothing, or to carry flashlights. It is, however, the burden of responsiblity of the person who is traveling at the highest speed and whose transport can do the most damage to other trail users to take care for more-vulnerable users.
All I have to go on is what you wrote above. Based on that, the only thing that it sounds like the person may have been doing wrong was not keeping right, and even that is marginal ("walking in the center of the path").
I am at a loss, however, as to how you were not able to react in time to avoid hitting this person. Were you riding on this dark section of the path with a headlamp?
If you cannot react fast enough to stop or go around somebody who is just walking down the path (as opposed to something like running out from the bushes), then you are going too fast for conditions. It sounds like you were riding faster than the lighting conditions warranted.
I had my headlight on. I could see clearly down the path.
They were wearing dark clothes and moved towards the center.
I didn't have any time to react cause I saw them at the last second.
And I'm sorry common sense here is a loss for me.
If you are intentionally walking down a darkened path with dark clothes on and expect nothing to happen you are real gullible.
And he did have a flashlight! He used his phone after I hit him and crashed.
It was the Cloak of Invisibility he was wearing. Headlights are worthless against those!

2 new rules for riding at night ( for me anyways)
1. In dimly lit sections I'm going to use the strobe feature on my headlight.
Not taking any more chances! If someone gets a seizure on the side of the path, suits them right! Cause I will not hit another person because of their lack of respect or common sense.
2. Going to always wear my helmet. Again I don't feel safe anymore. I did until Saturday.
But that was shattered. Maybe for the best.
By all means wear the helmet. But maybe you should slow down a little when it's dark. The strobe isn't a force field. Just saying. ;-)
