Why do people hate happy so much :'(
I love the puppet bike. It always cheers me up when I'm having a rough day. How disappointing that some scumbag did this.

If there's a fundraiser, I'd chip in.
If any of you haven't seen the puppet bike and are curious what it's about, here's a link to the web site.
Thanks for the link, Anne. I just ordered me a puppet bike t-shirt!

Some sad chump, trying to take others joy away.
Yeah, the puppet bike annoys me too.

Oh, wait...

Here's an update from Chicagoist: http://chicagoist.com/2010/10/07/puppet_bike_update.php?

Lot of folks have been writing in asking about the Puppet Bike vandalization we reported earlier. Jason, Master of Puppet Bike, sent us a second e-mail to clarify the damage. turned out Puppet bike wasn't so much vandalized as broken into. ''When I got there, the bike was not really trashed, but it was opened incorrectly and listing to the side. With the help of a friend I was able to close things up and go home."

Despite what happened, it didn't sound as though Jason was looking for an eye for an eye. "There are a lot of people out there who need help that they don't know how to seek (help). The person who did this is definitely struggling and I wish the best for them."

Puppet Bike will be back in operation soon. Meanwhile, here's another video.
well I'm glad it wasn't too bad then. I had this image of wood an metal strewn about a cold wet alley way... puppet fluff everywhere and a single non broken light bulb on the ground next to an old soggy classified ad.

heh
Although it seems like the original report was a bit exaggerated, I was pleased to see Puppet Bike in Andersonville today.

Does seem to be a bit "tagged up"...

I saw it up and operational in Wes Andersonville the other day! I giggled and clapped like a little kid and was hella happy to see it back in business and probably tipped way too much.

Someone was filming the puppets on their cell phone and a puppet popped up with a cell phone and started pretending to film the person. The spectator dropped their fancy smartphone in surprise and the puppet dropped their cellphone, too, wee little puppet arms flailing in distress.

Oh, man, Puppet Bike, I seriously turn into a six year old whenever you're around. Shit's hilarious.

It's a bit of a haul but a few years ago the bike was downtown around the DePaul campus and looked like it was doing well with commuters and tourists.
