Yup. Thank you Phil!
Rule #1: Everyone riding a bike and being safe and having fun is doing it right.
Rule #2: Wear whatever the hell you want.
Rule #3: Nothing on your bike has to match. Cycling is already expensive, complicated, elitist, and often sexist and racist. Don’t make it harder because someone’s tires aren’t the same brand.

Personally, I think Bike Snob is so 2012. I'm so over pointing fingers at others in judgement, stereotyping with labels like "Freds". More love of cycling, less Judgey Judgersons and the world would be a better place. :-)
You do realize the rules posted are a response to the extraordinarily elitist rules you posted, right?
You both realize that the Velominati rules are satirical, right?
Oh really!? Ya don't say!! And here I am shaving my legs for nothing!!
I violated 43 and therefore 1. My bad sir.
I hope you also violated #34. And #50.
No and no. The beard is only as long as Peter Sagan's is.
This was all established in 1975.

I like #10
Rule #10 (This is broad to cover anything I’m missing): Don’t be a dick.
Rules are context dependent. If you are a competitive type the velominati rules make sense. If you are a commuter the Stanford rules make sense. The State O' Illinois and the City O' Chicago have overlapping rules that we have seen over and under enforced as discussed all over the forum. Many clubs and groups have rules having to do with helmets, dealing with crashes and incidents, signaling and calling out warnings to fellow riders etc.
I think Rule #10 from Phil pretty much sums it up. Another way to express it would be - Don't be a cycling narcissist. Yes, cycling is at it's core a solitary endeavor, but it's not all about you. EVERYBODY ON THE ROAD should be able to get where they are going in one piece, in reasonable time and in good spirits... which is really not being a dick.
Although I love velomati rules No. 10 and 5, Rule No. 60 is the most important one of them all.
