New bike helmet with front and rear action cameras now on Kickstarter.
The Cyclevision Edge helmet boasts built-in cameras in front and back.
Comparable and lower in cost than the Fly12, $279 and the Fly 6, $179.
"Cyclevision is currently looking for funding the Edge on Kickstarter with the helmet available to early bird backers for $350. Shipments are expected to take place in July if the device is able to cross over the funding line."
Do you think this would a easier/useful way to incorporate an action cam setup for your every day riding?

I'd prefer a standalone camera system that I can use with my choice of helmet or move from helmet to helmet.

I currently have an early generation Go Pro knock off that I picked up at Menards a few years ago for about $25. It works but I can't control it remotely.
I also have a Fuji weatherproof camera with a wide angle lens that I can control remotely via phone app. It works okay too but neither of those is suitable as a "dash cam" to continuously record what goes on in front or behind me. For that the ideal camera(s) do continuous loop recording.
I like the looks of that GitUp G3 setup with the slave cam. I'll likely be getting that soon.
Great, Thanks Vince! I think every cyclist should have some type of suitable camera. I believe that it would contribute to a better overall image and respectful attitude towards our community from vehicular drivers if most cyclists have them. And, it might cause all to properly behave.
I have an action cam from this company and it works fine. For under $200, you could get their G3 with a slave camera that plugs into the main camera to capture rear-facing video or any other angle you want. The pro packing version comes with the skeleton case and all the mounts you would need to get started.

The Cyclevision helmet would have been useful in this situation.
The cyclist removes his camera from the handlebar mount and aims it to the rear.
