A bicyclist was struck by two vehicles and critically wounded early Saturday (11/22) on Lake Shore Drive in the Lake View neighborhood on the North Side.
The 24-year-old man was struck by the vehicles about 2:50 a.m. on Lake Shore Drive near Belmont, police said.
He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
The drivers of both vehicles stayed at the scene of the crash, but it was not immediately known whether any citations or charges have been issued, police said.
The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.

Perhaps true, but when you've gotten drunk off your ass and hopped onto a freeway on a bicycle and started swerving across two entire lanes, you've created a pretty large opportunity for tragedy.

It sounds as though the event might not have been so tragic if the driver of the Honda (uninsured - wonder why?) had not plowed into the fallen cyclist and the stopped cars.
