They are not moving, but opening a pop-up shop. From their website:

MAIN SHOP:  4653  N.  BROADWAY, CHICAGO  IL  60640

OPENING THURSDAY, MAY 19 THROUGH 2017:

POP UP SHOP:  1124 W. ARGYLE, CHICAGO  IL  60640

That's good news. Thanks for clarifying Gene.

Yeah I'm glad they're expanding. I always go way out of my way to get my bikes maintained there. The pop up shop will probably be closer for me.

They are my favorite bike shop to go to. They don't have the huge selection of bikes like a kozys but they sell good quality bikes and have tremendous service and are all around nice folks. When it comes to really good service, honorable mention also has to go to Comrade Cycles.

I wonder how much of this is due to the work on the Wilson station which has just about blocked off at least 50% of Broadway's traffic in front of Uptown Bikes in the past year.  I noticed today that the construction crew put up new signs to help out Uptown Bikes and a few of the other stores.

For those who don't know, Uptown Bikes is the best bike shop in Chicago HANDS DOWN.  Nora and John are the best mechanics you will find and their work is always flawless. Just recently I took my bike to somewhere else in the area and this not to be named shop messed up the work.  Never again..back to Uptown Bikes for me.

The owner Maria is the bomb too.

And no I don't work there...just a happy customer!  I will be patronizing their pop up store this weekend.

Yep pretty much nails what I was getting at. I also know of others who go way out of their way to go to Uptown Bikes because they are the best.

I couldn't agree more. It always feels like I got a brand new bike after Nora or John have tuned it up for me.

This summer on Argyle will be very cool, with the new streetscape and a bike shop!  I'm so happy to live near there.  I agree with the other's comments about the greatness of Uptown Bikes.
