"The 6O6, the less-than-a-year-old elevated railroad turned park and trail system, is set to receive a distinguished National Urban Design award."
"The American Planning Association announced the trail was receiving the award for Urban Design Wednesday morning, stating that the trail sets a new standard for American parks."
"The Urban Design award honors efforts to create a sense of place, whether a street, public space, neighborhood or campus, according to the APA."
Congratulations to The 6O6 !

Cortland is awful again, with the return of cars. I ride the 606. I ride Clybourn. Cortland between those two is quite unpleasant. Who else remembers the beautiful summer of no cars on Cortland, when Moms and kids on bikes roamed happily? Sigh...
Finally the proposed extension from the 2011 cdot bike map will come to fruition. YAY
Would be great if the the 606 could be extended north under the Kennedy to the Cortland/Ashland intersection.
I STILL haven't made it to the 606 yet. I do plan to soon. This is great news!!!!
I have been envisioning a set of sky hooks that will suspend the 606 over Ashland, over ther river, over railroad tracks to Elston. What could be realistically done, is cleaning up the underpass(es). New lighting, drainage, bike/auto stop lights, even if the bike lane/path is on the sidewalk - all of this could be done rather easily and would just create a much safer intersection for everyone.
