Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)
My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.
Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane
With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming
#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)
#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.
We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

This makes a whole lot less sense when there's a valid parking spot just to the right.
I stopped to talk to the drivers. The Uber on the left was nice enough to move (a first). The Uber on the right told me that world doesn't revolve around cyclists and we need to make exceptions for them. I told him his tech-bro jitney doesn't give him the magical exemption to illegally load/park in a bike lane. Later I discovered that my camera doesn't capture temp plates covered in plastic very well. I guess this guy got away since I can't directly ID him.
311 does take complaints against ride-shares. The city probably won't do anything but we can start generating data against them. Uber and Lyft aren't going to self report about their complaints.
As for the camera issue... I have been saying the plates numbers to record them on the video.
It is a $750 fine plus costs to have that cover over the plate. Let them know.

I find that this intersection is a mess many many mornings.
That area is still a mess as well as the new construction sites on milwaukee with all of the trucks. I also dread riding next to all of the cement trucks that drive dangerously close to the bike lane on Milwaukee.
yeah, they span a broad time range (and in no particular order). I've just kinda gotten used to the drill there and so am less impressed to bother to save the clip unless something is even weirder than the last clip. I also think pulling the stick out of my rear about strictly following the signal and instead doing an Idaho stop there at Noble has helped keep me in front of jam up and thus safer in general. I'll likely dig back through my backlog of videos and find another stretch of road or theme to pick on in a subsequent post, in your honor I'll see if I have a couple of construction construction sites/trucks.
today's compendium: trucks - doing truck things. I thought I could go for 'construction trucks on Milwaukee, but I think I've given them a pass and not saved the recordings figuring that construction activity is 'abnormal' enough that normal parking rules etc. need not apply, so, so this is other professional trucks.
