We're having our meeting/annual election this Wednesday 11/10.  If you enjoy the Major Taylor Trail and would like to contribute ideas and get involved in planning events and projects for next year, we'd like to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who came out to help yesterday. We planted 68 trees along the Major Taylor Trail, starting south of 124th St. and continuing north to about 122nd St. This was our 3rd planting on this section of the trail, and we now have a lovely mix of young native trees from 127th to 122nd, in addition to those planted near 87th & Damen last fall.

Bonus - getting to work with a bunch of kids from the neighborhood who were curious and joined in to help us. They were curious and enthusiastic, asking a lot of good questions and bringing energy and fun to the project. Teaching them about trees, tree planting and Major Taylor was a very positive experience.

This week is a two-fer. We have our monthly meeting this Wednesday 5/21 at Ridge Park.

On Saturday 5/24, we will be doing another tree planting, thanks to Openlands and the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.  Please click here for info.
