For everyone who rode through the winter and survived to talk about it, here's something to brag about (as if you needed it anyways). So far as I can tell, not a joke ;-).

I don't know if we should laugh or cry.
I'm getting a TShirt made at OneHourT's that says
"I rode all winter and I don't remember seeing you"
That's crazy. Neither did I.

I am also a victim to buying a new rear wheel this week :(
As for falling, I fell twice.
The first was early in the stage of winter - like around November. I was approaching that turn on Oak Street beach on LFP and I did see someone sitting on the ground closer to the water - looking like he fell and was taking his time to get up. I knew from the night before that that section would be icy closer to the water, so I was going to hug the wall, but there were these couple who parked their bikes there just after the turn and the girl was waving as if to get attention that it would be icy - thus forcing me to move away from the wall and I slipped on the ice.
I mean, thanks for the great intention, but WHY THE EFF WOULD YOU PARK YOUR F-DAMN BIKES ON THE DRYEST PART AND FORCING PEOPLE TO TAKE THE ICY PART, RIGHT AFTER THE EFFING TURN WHERE PEOPLE COULD NOT REACT FAST ENOUGH ?!!!????
The second, was coming home from a bar - not much to say on that one.
And yes, I am glad that it's over. Now I just have to deal with wet socks for the day, but that always happen on my first rain ride, and every year, I would immediately remember to always bring a pair of plastic shopping bags for my feet to keep them dry.

This winter destroyed chains, cassettes, an actual tire and spokes. That adds up. It was nice that the three times I fell I was protected like the stay puff marshmallow man and that I didn't get hurt. I feel like my shirt should read "I rode all winter, cause I'm stubborn".
My front hub fell victim to the salt and water. By the time I noticed the grinding feeling in the hub it was too late to save....
Having learned the hard way from winters before.
This has been one of the most brutal labor intensive winter wonderlands that have caused me to regularly wash the salty grime off of my ponies more than a few times every week after coming home to avoid corrosion.
