The Chainlink

After watching this video, it's no wonder why some people hate cyclists.

Everything this guy does in the video is wrong and rude!

Riding on the sidewalk, wrong way down streets, going through red lights, blowing a horn at everyone, etc.

Yeah, the douchiness is strong in this one.

Well the whole point was to demonstrate all the cool sounds his new toy was capable of generating. But yes, after watching that video, I had the sinister vision that someone would grab the guy off his bike and show that thing down his throat.

I agree that he is a "turd".

He should probably learn to sound the horn with quite a bit more distance from people, giving them enough time to get over to the side, etc.

However, I am not a decisive judge for that. I have waited until the very last second (or as I roll up to them) to yell or sound my horn at/to those ignorant people that are walking to the driver's side door while talking or texting on their phone. Especially if they have obviously looked up at me and noticed my 3 blinking front lights (to include the one on my helmet) and still decide to whip their door wide open (as if they are in a private driveway) and just stand there like nothing is wrong.

The startled jump or squeal (funnier when the big tough n' macho guys do it) is fairly amusing...it's even better when I hear that comforting "Thwack" of the smart phone hitting the street. I have had a few people speed up to catch me just to try to tell me how much of an asshole I was. I just calmly remind them that it isn't my fault that they didn't see my flashing lights or hear me the first few times before I got to them....maybe they weren't paying attention in the first place - hmmmm????....because they were on their phone, maybe ???? hmmmmmm??? Then I just smile and go about my business. Most get the picture. Some try to swerve like they are going to hit me. On the few times that that has happened, CPD has been very happy to give those types a "helpful reminder" (a.k.a. a Ticket) of why they shouldn't drive erratically.

;)

Was he wearing a helmet?

Serge???

Oh wait, this was in Brooklyn :D

BTW: Serge does not ride like this. He simply has similar horns.
