Yeah! Good for you, Lisa.

Now, if only I could get myself to pick up a bike again.

Yes!  That felt very good, but it was still a bit challenging in a couple of places.  Julie M, I thought that dumpster full of snow was a nice touch! :-)  Wonder if they are going to take it away or just let it melt there.

Rode again today.  I was thinking there would be less snow in the bike lane on Clark street going from Uptown into Evanston, but it seemed a little worse than yesterday.  Maybe they didn't plow anymore, or snowed in cars were leaving there parking spaces thus littering snow in my path in the process.  Good ride though, just had to slow down in the rough spots.  After negative 35 degrees, this all feels like summer.

I rode today, deviating from my usual Lake Front Trail route to more streets. Based on how bad Dearborn was yesterday, I took Wells instead. I submitted a 311 request to get Dearborn cleared, but unfortunately there is no option to say it's for the bike lane.

Any word on how Elston is N to Lawrence or the other way down to Milwaukee?  I had to walk from Irving to almost Addison this morn due to the one way on Milwaukee, and horrible sidewalks. I think I may scope Elston for the ride home.

Des Plaines -> Washington -> Wells was nice and clear, I think I may avoid N. Wells and/or Dearborn indefinitely

Thanks Adam.

I can only comment on Elston between Belmont and Milwaukee. Its a tricky ride going both ways due to snow and or cars in the bike lane. Due to this you'll be forced into the lane at several points so exercise caution and pay attention. The stretch from Western up to Belmont was a bit tricky.

Good luck!

Yeah, Dearborn was much better this afternoon save for one spot at Washington where I had to walk my bike around.

Adam - FWIW, your call may have worked.

A huge CDOT salter was in the bike lane this morning, plowing and salting.  Between their efforts and the warmer temps I think we can all anticipate a less chunky ride home this evening.

All of Elston is really nice! I took it up to Bryn Mawr and was pleasantly surprised.  Slushy, but clear enough.  Only accumulation was at Elston and St. Louis...and for some reason that is always a sketchy intersection.  Must be a short cut from the 94 Addison exit or something

What a week!  On Monday I was in an Arctic parka getting on the Red Line and today I was in rain gear biking down Clark.  Crazy.

Warm as heck this morning (or at least it feels that way!), but with all the rain predictions this afternoon I left for work early on the train, got off a few stations before the office and walked the rest of the way, stopping to pick up a dozen bagels for the team.

I fear the rain will melt everything and there won't be skiing at Northerly Island tomorrow.

Soooo happy to be back on the bike!! I commuted home last night and back in this morning.  After carrying a Divvy bike over snow banks and biking through the Fullerton LFT "bypass" I have a whole new respect for the guy that rode a Divvy in the cyclocross race.  Divvy bikes are surprisingly heavy and awkward to lift and carry, and I was doing lots of fishtailing over mud and slush. Fun times regardless!

Yes.  I wore rain gear in anticipation of the rain for the commute home.  I am hoping for rain so my poor bike can get a bath!
