This subject line makes me laugh every time I see it while scanning down the list of topics in the forum.
There are helmets that look like equestrian helmets that, on the ladies, looks pretty sharp actually.
I like my Bern Brentwood - it came with summer and "winter" inserts. It is not adjustable and fit perfectly the first time. I think that is key to not having a bulky looking helmet is to get one that fits your head - like a fitted ball cap instead of the adjustable plastic or velcro strip in the back.
I just got a Nutcase as a second helmet and it needs some work to get it comfortable. My head is not "round" enough for it and it squeezes the front and back but is loose on the sides. I need to mix and match the padding sizes they come with. But - it has the greatest closure mechanism for the strap, one handed operation - magnetic for easy closing, one handed opening.
the sahn is pretty, but that much different from a bern especially for that price difference.
not to mention it cost more than my bike...

true that! and hopefully it'll last you forever. it's not like clothes where you fluctuate in and out of sizes.

Yeah, it is expensive but sometimes you have to say fuck it.
