Okay I'm not sure the protocol for this kind of thing. And I certainly don't want to advocate theft. But here goes.
I run on the LFP 5-6x a week. I bike to Wilson and then lock up on the racks behind the field house - facing the soccer path - that is located maybe 700 meters South of Wilson on the East side of LSD.
Since Monday am I have seen the same bike in the same spot. It is locked with a Bell ulock just next to the rack outside the rest room. There were no workouts going on at the soccer field during these times. My arrival times have varied from 6:30 - 7:30. Bike is always there.
Now maybe somebody is working out the same time as me every day but I find that unlikely that they would park in the same spot.
It's a beach cruiser type bike from Nirve and I think this is the model. This bike is a light aqua blue color. Has the nice internal Nexus 3 speed gear and nice wood trim. The frame is small..I am guessing it is a fit for somebody 5'5" to 5'6". But that's a guess. Certainly not big enough for me and I"m 5'10".
So if I guess you know somebody who got this bike stolen it's there. Not sure why anybody would lock up a stolen bike but I guess it could happen.
Otherwise I would think it's abandoned unless anybody else has another theory.

If it's only been there since "Monday am," I would not yet consider it abandoned.
yes. +1
Dude - we appreciate your concern here; but in all honesty : many folks (especially folks with boats at Montrose, Belmont, Columbia, 31st St, etc etc. will leave a bike for many days (even weeks) in the summer/sailing months. I lock my bike at the yacht club at montrose for the entire weekend; and this is pretty standard protocol for many folks.
Keep Calm and carry on....

All right. It's pretty far away from the yacht club so that seems like a strange place to leave one's bike but so be it. Given all the theft talk it just seemed unusual for someone to leave a bike that long in such a public place.
What about that Schwinn Mirada Sport a bit north of North Beach? That definitely hasn't moved for a while.
Well, at least the thieves on CL know where to cherry pick a couple of bikes now...
It could be there indefinitely and its no one's right except the owner of the bike, or the owner of the property its on (city, parks dept...), to do anything with it. If its not yours, leave it alone.
Given we've mentioned all of two bikes thieves using this site as a reference will probably starve. I regret nothing.
If this is aimed at me I don't take things that don't belong to me. I pointed out this bike to see if somebody here knew whose it was. I highly doubt anybody has intentionally left a fairly nice bike in such a public location.
