Seems that way. I'm not terribly happy about that, since it effectively doubles my ride. I might pop off the mass at 31st street and shave 8 miles off my ride home.

Thanks for posting the proposed route. I wasn't sure I was going to make it, but I will make more of an effort to now. I really enjoyed the south side ride last year.

I had a blast on last year's south side ride! I just didn't enjoy the 12 mile ride home on the Lake Front Trail by myself at night. Hence, the group ride proposition.

If you'll propose an alternate route that doesn't end so far South, you never know, you might have a crowd follow you. There's no magic in one person's proposed route...

Do any of these events ever go north?  Will the CPD not allow anything to enter the rich/tourist areas north of the loop?
