To everyone who supported us whether it was through volunteering, spreading the word, or just good thoughts, thank you very much.  Our First Annual "Women Bike Chicago--a Day of Dialogue and Demos" was well attended and we heard good things from those who attended.  You will be hearing more from us!

Thanks, h'.  We are still processing--I think everyone is pretty tired.  Will post a bit more when our thoughts are more organized.  But, it seemed that the women who attended enjoyed the presentations, the opportunities to learn about bike maintenance, the opportunities to ride a wide variety of bikes, and just talking with women who bike regularly.

Thanks to all who put in their time and efforts organizing and running things. It was a good event.

Exhausted is more like it.  It was very gratifying to see the enthusiastic response and have so many great conversations.  We had several different presentations, as well as a basic bike repair demo and a bike corral with a wide variety of bikes.

I just posted some photos from today.  Who has more to share?

I've got some photos - what do you think, Anne - do we want them here, or on FB?

Can you do both, Sarah?  Some of us do not do facebook.

Both would be great, if that's not too much hassle.

It was a great event, thanks to all of you for the hard work of organizing and executing! I'm slowly working on my story on it for Streetsblog Chicago, but in the mean time have posted photos onto my Flickr photostream, if you'd like to have a look.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Thank you Michelle-

It was great to see you out there with us yesterday. I think a special one of my favorite parts was watching  women of every age and from all over our city cruising  around in the Memorial Grove testing bikes and checking out Amelia and Carmelina's mechanics presentation! Thank you West Town Bikes!

Huge thanks to all of our partners and sponsors again. They all really made it happen with us. Chainlink and Julie really powered everything along too. Special thanks to everyone below.  Hope it's just the start . More women on bikes? What could be better? Jenn

Yeah amazing event, Esp getting a chance to talk about riding with our um periods. Ok I said it. I would like to give a shout out to the original cycling sisters too for years of hard work and dedication supporting women on bikes when women were not biking as often.

I think this list includes:

Cigdem
Lisa Phillips
Jane Healy
Gin Kilgore
And a whole slew rad ladies. Many who have kids now of their own.

Congrats to all, we heard it was wonderful...can't wait until next year!
