I was referring to Tuesday. The ride this am had a fierce head wind. I'm hoping 1/22/13 is better. Of course, now I'm gonna question my temporal sanity and maybe try to write a pilot for bad robot or mutant enemy where some how I slip and...oh nvm.

This will be my first extreme cold ride. A little nervous but I'm going for it. Better than waiting for the CTA.....

Tuesday--if the forecast in the morning is for the wind to lessen considerably over the course of the day, I am riding.  Cold without wind--I think I have figured out.  Wind--you got me on that ride home today.

I know. I have goggles, actually a wrap around kind of safety glasses goggles get foggy.

Goggles.  I cannot say it often enough--goggles.  My eyes and skin behind the goggles did not even know it is winter.

Ahhh yes the watery eyes, the "hurts when you breathe" the burning sensation in the extremities.

Not if I don't need to, one upside to being unemployed I guess?

What I WOULD like is a day/night in the 20's where we get several inches of snow, we need a snow ride dammitt!

Yes. I am riding tomorrow. And I am sorry to those of you that get stuck behind me on Dearborn since my ride is loaded down for the morning v

I am planning on riding the day after tomorrow.

This discussion is about riding today.

haha!

I'm still having issues with my glasses fogging under the goggles...which aren't too fogged.

Otherwise, not a bad ride.
Today was for my five miles so much easier. The wind was not fighting us going North and West. Saw a bunch of bikers when I went through the UIC area on Roosevelt and a whole bunch of folks on Ogden going North up to Western. Funny - more today than yesterday (MLK?).

(After herding)

I have tried pretty much everything and have resigned myself to the likelihood that nothing works except face uncovered and my regular riding glasses.

I have the same experience.  Although today I was sorely tempted to see just how badly my glasses would fog if I wore a ski mask.  My face ultimately acclimated to being frozen.
