A bike ride up the North Branch Trail, runs right by Old Orchard Road where the courthouse is located.

Beware of the usual restriction of what you can carry inside the building, but do wear a helmet and look like a bike rider supporting the prosecution.

If the case is still pending and the defendant is in custody at 26th street they load them on a bus and bring them to the courthouse for every hearing.  Unless the defendant demands trial (that is a term with a legal meaning in the criminal code) these things can go on for a long time.  Kevin is probably right--just wants to enter a plea when he can get time served as the sentence.

I am sorry but it is throw not through.

Anyone else coming to this? They wouldn't let me bring my helmet into the courthouse.
Im tempted to send that piece of shit anniversary card.

Return address is SOR

Might be time for another anniversary card. Robertson has now been in custody for over two years.

I love this so much! That bastard was so cocky when we were face to face! I'll send him a card with a picture of my smiling face and a "remember me from the Swap-O-Rama you POS?" :-)

10% is usually the amount that needs to be posted to "bond out." I suspect that the case against him is sufficiently strong that his lawyer is waiting until the date that he can plead his client to "time served;" i.e. in exchange for a plea of guilty, he is sentenced to 2 years and two months, and he is released because he has already served two years and two months.

Does the bail amount of 75k mean that that's what needs to be put up to get him out? Or is it some percentage of that?

In other words nobody was willing to do that for him?

(I know blessedly little about some aspects of the legal/penal system...)

Nah, Howard, this guy isnt that bright. You could argue that he'll go back to stealing bikes but i doubt the internet will be understood by Captain Tiny Brain. I shoulda took the name of the Swap security guard that was taking this shmo's side.

It's a sad chapter in a sad existence. When he gets out he's going to figure out how to run a bike theft ring without personal exposure.
