From the NWS

A POWERFUL WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT THE REGION THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT BRINGING WET SNOW AND VERY STRONG WINDS. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO WET SNOW FROM WEST TO EAST LATE THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...WITH SNOW CONTINUING INTO THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW COULD FALL HEAVILY AT TIMES WITH ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80. IN ADDITION...VERY STRONG WINDS WILL LIKELY GUST TO OVER 50 MPH AT TIMES VERY LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY EVENING.

Most concerning is the 50 MPH winds blowing snow everywhere and reducing visibility.

Well, as long as the wind isn't blowing too hard AGAINST me, I'm all good.

I'll be riding. Weather reports about wind gusts are generally overblown.

I am toying with riding in, leaving my bike at work and taking CTA home and in and then riding home on Friday.  I do have the incredible luxury of being able to leave my bike in my locked office.

Everyday.

I'll be riding.

If it snows enough for a snow ride I will be there and may borrow the shops demo Moonlander.

Fat tyres 4 ever.

Snow Ride needs to start or end at Cals for Bar Night!

Tradition dictates a ride down to the Corner Bar.

Yessiree.

It depends.  I can handle falling snow and wet/slushy ground, but not falling rain.

Hell yeah!

I've been waitn' for this. Bring it!

Cook and the surrounding counties don't even have a winter storm watch. Some further out counties have a watch and farther flung counties have a warning. I think I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

We've been upgraded to a winter storm watch.

Thanks Clint! I will be sharing this with my family, most of whom have a special groan they reserve for my puns.

If you did that on purpose, you're my hero.
