My main use would be Wells from Wacker to Van Buren. Drivers & pedestrians get stupid/deaf through this gauntlet...

that's some obnoxious fred shit right there.

I guess I cannot recall a time where such an audio blast would work better than my brakes or steering into the clear or sprinting away. If someone walks right in front of me or a car right-hooks into my path, I'd rather react instantly with the bicycle than take my hands off the bars and try to reach for an accessory. But maybe that's just me. A bell is one thing, this is another.

Loud horns can also startle people who then freeze or jump into your path.  I prefer no noisemaker other than my own vocal cords.

I love my AirZound Horn. It works great. I recently punctured the hose and had to splice it together with a 4mm straight line connector...and now I'm nervous about riding with it, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

With The Mega-lert/MegaHorn, a friend had asked me to see if there was something I could do about the straps recently. I modified an adjustable hose clamp to fit on the horn and it works awesome. You have to tighten it with a screwdriver, and you cover the hose clamp with an old tube so that it doesn't scratch the frame/rust up. For the strap on the button, it was a small wire loop and a zip tie. I could do another hose clamp on there, but the zip tie is much more simple.

agreed. as with most other problems life throws my way, i prefer to solve this one with yelling. and sometimes making obnoxious engine noises.

i do it mostly with cars that aren't going fast enough, but also to motorcyclists and gentlemen on scooters. they really hate that, especially at stop lights, when you do it suggestively.

I've tried the Mega Horn and found that not only does it need a bit more volume, but also a bit lower pitch.  There are too many out there who have trouble hearing higher-pitched sounds.  Bikers that ride Milwaukee Iron (Harley-Davidsons) often install straight pipes on their motorcycles in order to loudly announce their presence.  That Harley-Davidson roar is extremely effective as an audible warning.
