I'm more concerned about Segways on sidewalks in the Loop, but it's nice to see at least some thought being given to the tourists zipping around on motorized vechicles that they can barely control.

4-wheel pedal cars next, please.
I wonder if these things have repeat customers because every time I see people using them, they are struggling and half the riders are doing all the work.
I so hear ya. Those things take up the entire lakefront trail.

i have only observed people struggling with those 4 wheeled things. My personal "fave" is when they attempt a 3 point turn in a car like manouver right on the path. No space for them anyway and especially not 3 pointers!
I have emailed Alderman Reilly and asked him to extend this ordinance to all electric vehicles, including electric bikes. Please do the same if you feel so inclined.
i would've thought that the price would effectively ban them from purchase and looking like a complete toolshed would keep people from renting them but, alas, here we are.

Can we just ban all segways everywhere?
I doubt it. Seems like something you do once as a tourist.

I don't ride the LFP very often, but I've never noticed a problem with electric bikes. Spandex clad training riders present a much larger problem when they plow down the path at recklessly high speeds.

would seem to make as much sense as banning soft drinks in terms of addressing the country's obesity/diabetes crisis.
excellent news!
