I haven't done this ride, although I did have a chance to go through Pullman on the Perimeter Ride. It's a very cool little town with a really interesting history. It looks like they're "returning to the Hotel Florence" at the end, so I'd guess they start there too? No indication of a time though.

It's a shame - looks like a good route.

Who is up for a Labor day ride? I'm thinking of covering some interesting labor sites (probably nothing no one hasn't seen yet) if I can put it together in time.

I'd be up for the Pullman ride, maybe we could get down there, do their ride, then come back?

finally got the skinny on this one.

There is a fee of $15.00 and lunch included there is a registration on-sight between 8:00&9:00a.m. at the HOTEL FLORENCE 11111 S. FORRESTVILLE Ave. The ride starts at 9:00 a.m.

This is a fundraiser for the "Pullman Civic Organization"

I am going and I am game for riding back.

Did you end up going on this? How was it? Now that you've gotten the details I'll make sure it's on the calendar for next year.

I didn't go last year - too swamped with BLT preparation. I've done this ride in the past. It's a very interesting tour that takes a lot of back streets and paths. The guides give a good amount of history, especially the guy who does the Marktown tour (East Chicago). I learned a LOT of stuff I didn't know and had a good ride. If you enjoy local history and architecture, it's well worth the trek to Pullman.

It's a shame that they dropped the ball on the web site. It really doesn't give enough information. I know some of the folks involved, and they're good people. BTW, the Pullman Civic Organization is involved in restoration and preservation of the neighborhood.

Nice presentation on the web site.

The event really is a labor of love by the organizers. It's an interesting part of the metro area that many people just bypass on the Skyway. Riding to Pierogi Fest and doing the Perimeter Ride has introduced a lot of people to little bits of the territory covered by the Pullman Labor Ride.
