Today Grid Chicago checks out a line of 32 ghostly-white mannequins along Chicago's
Wacker Drive representing last year's pedestrian crash fatalities. These dummies are
part of a new in-your-face campaign by the city to promote safer behavior by drivers
and pedestrians:

Can we have some of those relocated to Van Buren and LaSalle, where rush hour pedestrians push their strollers into traffic against green lights?
I think the mannequins are mostly to remind drivers to be safe, but I'm sure they'll have that effect on pedestrians as well.

As I could walk everywhere I need to be yesterday I saw one and the nearly had a mini van plow into me.

Be safe peoples.
