I bet it will be all clean tommorrow morning.
I was also thinking it would be cleared out tomorrow. Weather is supposed to be nice, I can't see why they would put it off and have thousands of irritated people blowing up the #311.
You guys are lucky, the bike path near me isn't cleared at all.
BE patient we'll have a strong storm from the West soon and it'll blow back.
I was wrong.
I don't get it.  The LFP is the Kennedy/Dan Ryan of biking "highways."  They have the equipment to clean the path.  We are positioning ourselves as trying to be the most bike-friendly city in the US.  Why wait to clean up the path? How many people will have to break a bone or just have a harrowing wipeout before the city gets around to getting the sand off the path?
no money to sweep sand but 40 million for a flyover... none left for path maintenance of the LFP  go figure... who is in charge?  Park district?  City?

The Park District needs to bring back the rolling sweeper brush on the front of the tractor.  Seems to me that is more effective than the "leaf blower" on the front of the tractor they have been using this past year.
Sand cleared off this morning.

Please be sure to let us at Active Trans know about these issues, we work closely with the Park District to push them on upkeep, etc. We did hear about this and did put in a call about the sand.

Check before you leave, current LFT conditions can be found here:

Or on Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/activetransLFT

You can email updates/questions to lakefront@activetrans.org or Tweet using  hashtag #CHILFT

Thanks,

Ethan Spotts, Active Trans

And yes, we'll call again about the sand on the South side.

Thanks, Ethan
