I thoughouly enjoyed the EE Magic Circus Marching Band.
There was a decent turnout too.
Too bad with all the microphones they didn't have a local PA system. I guess the speechifying was all for the cameras anyhow. It was almost impossible to hear what the speakers where saying from as much as 20 feet away.
I must have missed the ribbon -or the cutting thereof. Perhaps it was merely metaphysical in nature.
Nice photos. Yes, there was a good turnout but, except for the band, I believe it was mostly people who were being paid to attend in a professional capacity.
A PA would have been great. I had to practically crouch at Commissioner Klein's feet in order to hear well enough to take notes.
Thanks for the full write-up on your joint blog.
I look forward to reading your analysis of the Jackson Blvd project.
Did our CDOT Commish ride to the event on his bike in a white suit?! I think I'm going to start an official Gabe Klein fan club.
The band is the Environmental Encroachment EE Magic Circus Marching Band.

Merry Meet!
Is this your arm?

If you took this picture yourself, James, you were standing right next to me. I guess we might consider it a meeting, though without introductions. You also might find yourself in one of the pictures I've taken.
John, if I might make a suggestion, when you promote stories from GridChicago.com, it might be best to provide the direct link to the story vs. general website URL. The discussions will have more relevance over time because the link will always be direct vs. "OK, I'm on the site, but you've added new stories since posting this discussion, so where is that article I'm supposed to read?" :)

Permanent link FTW!
Jackson:
Sometimes I get tired of having to do all the investigation. I'd appreciate a culture at CDOT where information is released as it is known and created at CDOT. I heard of the location about four weeks ago from at least three sources. I'm not really excited about it... I prefer one of these locations.
Biking in a suit:
Not sure if this happened. I think Gabe rode to Bike To Work Rally, but he was wearing a t-shirt and basketball shorts.
