Considering today's lusty 20-degree temps (and the fact is was 30 degrees COLDER the last time I was on the bike), I decided to do a runabout around the city. So I popped by Johnny Sprockets on Bryn Mawr to grab some shoes. Then I jaunted down to Cycle Smithy to inquire on Brooks saddle tightening. Afterward, I took Fullerton to REI (missing Halsted somehow and riding to Ashland, where I realized my booboo).

I took Halsted back north where it runs into Broadway, then decided to pop by Uptown Bikes. My front brake kept getting this knocking/tapping jive happening, and I wanted it dealt with ASAP. I had put new brake shoes on it not too long ago, and I was perplexed. It turns out a bit of street filth had attached to the front rim, so Nora was able to gently sand the grit away, and now the knocking is no more.

So, upon returning home, I managed to get 15 miles in today. Not much, mind you, but it's the longest time in the saddle since getting back from vacation. And for some reason, I'm feeling really GOOD... ;-)

Good job,,hope you had some fenders on.
Awesome, you did your own bike shop tour! I'm going to the Marauders ride tonight, I'm excited. I haven't rode my bike in a few days.
Hey! Any idea of what pubs y'all might be hitting on tonight's ride? I may wang out and miss the Billy Goat meeting point, but might just be awake if you're gonna be in/around my hood (Andersonville/Edgewater).
You go Ammo. What are you riding tonight? Take out that bad ass Crusier! Be safe and knock back some Jagger. What is your drink of choice besides beer?

Going snowshoeing tonight. Rode the trainer today for 3 hours. Getting mildly drunk but always a good time. HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah. I got another decent swath of saddle time in today. 12 miles just going up/down/across Sheridan/Sheffield/Halsted/Broadway. I popped in at Whole Foods on Halsted, and as I was leaving, one of the WF folks asked if that was my Riv outside, and we exchanged some really cool pleasantries. It was totally unexpected, cool as hell, and really made my day. :-)

So now I'm sitting here back at home, antsy as hell, and trying to convince myself that I need to head outside again.
ooooh weeee. We went to 4 bars last night! Rode from the Billy Goat to Carol's Pub on Clark and Wilson. It was a nice cool ride. Pretty cold by the end of the night (or morning, shall I say).

My drinks of choice: Belgian Brews, IPA's
Cocktails: Gin and Tonic
Shots: Anything that isn't darker than me, and NOOOO whiskey!
*stews jealously*

I passed out early with my fat orange cat on my chest. He has a remarkable ability to lull me to sleep...
