I want the skull face one! I am not wanting to celebrate my European Heritage and break my neck ;P

Juan: that Prussian spiked helmet would likely kill you in a fall unless the spike was made to break away at the slightest impact.  Imagine yourself falling head down in a crash with a spike in the ground.  Your head would stop falling while your neck broke.  Not a good helmet.
that helmet ain't cheap and not sure if it even has a rating.

Yeah, at $160 its pretty steep for a non-dot approved helmet. But it would sure scare off most of those d-bag drivers.

Sorry for the very untimely response...

Can you tell me more about this helmet? Is it army, gov't issued? Does it have padding on the inside?

I seriously like the look of it! A helmet company would have a smashing hit on their hands if they replicated the look!

As promised here's a picture of my glow-in-the-dork hell met... leather lined heavy metal skid lid. Not too much different from the ones posted above by the notoriousDUG
it's a german fireman's helmet from ww2... and it glows in the dark. found it at maxwell st. but have seen similar ones on ebay from time to time. it has an adjustable leather lining and also came with a leather "collar" to protect the nape of the neck. you may be able to source it belmont army surplus, i seen the goggles there for sure.
Dude, a 10 year old helmet isn't going to do you much good. Should probably replace every 3-5 years, especially if it's dropped banged around a lot.

I have a ten year old bell helmet someone gave me. It was dorky blue, so I put a raincover on it. The raincover got lost. I went shopping for a new helmet because the dorky blue covershell was cracked and deteriorated. The Bern's do look cool, but on my head I felt like a star wars storm trooper, or like i should be playing polo.

so, i ripped the cover off and now I have a generic charcoal black styrofoam shell. It's great! It's also really light, and saved me a bunch of money!

Those new colorful hardshell helmets are cool, though!
