Yes, the city is not doing fireworks this year. They are done by whoever runs Navy Pier. They are no longer in Grant Park either, but in front of Nayv Pier.

I still won't go

Navy Pier is doing the fireworks both nights, Saturday (as part of their regular schedule) and Monday.

Navy Pier is run by a quasi-governmental agency called the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA, or McPier) and its the reason it costs more to eat out near downtown (actually, the tax district is huge - it even covers the shops at Halsted and Maxwell Streets).

Just bumping it up on the feed again.
