Eek. Giant craters. I'll stick to Lincoln Ave for now. It is amazing the damage the winter freeze and thaw creates to the pavement. Thanks for the preview.
Wow!  That's really torn up.  Thanks for posting.
Damn the winter really tore it up.  I was out on it in December and it was just fine.  That sucks a whole lot.

Rode the path home from work yesterday.  South of Fullerton was terrible.  The high path was muddy/icy/full of water; higher than the high path was unstable gravel/dirt; paved path was iced and obviously gouged.

Will be taking city route for a while yet, sigh.

That damage was done by the ice storm back in the first week of December.  There was no additional damage after the big 20" snow.  When there is snow and ice on this stretch, I have been cutting through the zoo parking lot.

Where do you re-enter the LFP after zoo parking lot?

I take the path that crosses the zoo parking lot at the south end, just before the ticket booths and follow the path under one of the bridges under LaSalle Drive and down to North Avenue, where I take State St. and Wabash into the Loop.  On one occasion a few years ago, I continued all the way through the zoo parking lot and onto the LSD exit down to the LaSalle Drive, then back east to the LFT.  That was exciting!

I think our staff that coordinates with the Park District is aware of this but I'll pass it on just in case.

Thanks much,
