I have a feeling some of us on here have more bikes than we wish to admit. I'm up to 3 so far. Bianchi Road, Giant Mountain, and Trek Hybrid (which is currently abroad).

UPDATE (as of 6/8/11) - I'm up to 6 now... 2 aren't ride-able at the moment though.

Ain't no such thing as bike overkill Julie. at one point in my life, my entire living room was filled with my whips. I'm thinking about holding a swap meet soon, so more folks can join us in our sweet obsession.
I certainly would. Not sure about a date. There's one in Milwaukee soon, and a killer one in Madison in January. I know lot's of others who would be interested in displaying, participating, hanging out. There are a lot of us out here.

Hey Ron,
Would you be interested in collaborating to make a local bicycle swap meet happen?
Sick of all this crap happening out in bumblefrack.
Howard (we met at Jody's party and then some other place . . .)
I'd def be up for a local bike swap, I'm looking to either buy a single speed, or trade the horrendously 90's paint job Volpe...
The ideal number of bikes to own is always N+1, where N=the number of bikes you currently own. :)

I'm at 4 working bikes right now, and I have about 10 in pieces in my basement. Yet I still find myself trolling the Craigslist for sale section for more...
I'm sure we can make the swap happen. I've attended tons of swaps and have plenty of people in my phonebook who would want to display. It could be another way of saying, "hell no", to the Auto Show. Sure would make the winter seem shorter also.

Can you guys start a separate bike swap thread? you may get more peeps interested in it with its own thread. As much as I love you all...
picking up my third whip next week. but I'm already thinking about the next one.

Yeah... I'm not missing the auto show, I had to for four years when I was in college, and it's one of my favorite things in the early new year.

Right on. I definitely live by this tried-and-true algorithm. ;-)

That being said, OVERKILL might be when you have a stable of bikes and one or more just never get ridden. That's just a travesty. By that outlook, I have too many bikes: my mountain bike (it's be a helluva winter stud) just sits in my living room and looks at me its with sad puppy-dog eyelets.

I have 2 rideable ones (a road/touring bike and a mountain bike, one trailercycle (tagalong) and a vintage 1950s cruiser that needs works and a 1970s 10 speed that needs a lot of work.

Whenever I browse on Craigslist my boyfriend likes to say that I can't possibly need another bike. It makes me sad that he doesn't join in my bike obsession.
As of about an hour ago, I'm up to three rideables, and one frame set used as wall art. First thing I do after I find internet access is check in with my Bicycles Addicts (not so) Anonymous group, and that's you guys.
Seriously, there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to bikes. As long as there is room to store them I say keep buying. I eat out so I dont really need a kitchen table. And now they have those hook things so you can put the bikes on the walls and hang them from the ceiling. I have 7 bikes right now and that is NO overkill. My cousin collects socks and he's worked up a collection of 283 pairs. Now, that man has a problem!

OK, back to looking up stuff on ebay. Have a nice day!
