Whenever I drive into the city on 90, I am always awestruck at the beautiful skyline.    I was driving home late last night. The expressway was clear, my windows were rolled down, and I had good music playing.  I love driving around the curves of 90, with the skyline coming into view, until finally it is right before you.  This is always one of my "I love this city" moments.

This got me thinking. What are some places where you have an "I love this city" moment while biking?

Every morning, I take Archer Ave. from Bridgeport to the loop on my way to work. I have the feeling you describe when Archer ends and I turn left onto S. State. Simply a beautiful view of the city.
My favorite is on Elston near North Ave and further south as well. At night the skyline looks amazing just over the river. Here is a photo I shot Near North and Elston.

looking twards the city from the Point in Hyde Park....always inspiring. Or from the front entrace of the Shedd Aquarium.
I love that photo! It's beautiful.

The Midway, the Point, the whole length of King Drive, the south end of Northerly Island, the stockyards, Milwaukee northwest of Logan Square, Lower Wacker Drive and the Brown Line heading north of the Loop, for a few.
Beautiful shot! Thanks for sharing.

There are so many views of the city that I enjoy - northbound on the lakefront path from Promontory Point, riding down Longwood Drive or Prospect in Beverly and Morgan Park, looking south along the river from the Kinzie bridge, the grand homes of Drexel Blvd. and Logan Blvd., the smaller streets of Old Town....
I've always liked the view from the South Loop. It might not be as "pretty" as the iconic lakefront skyline shot, but it feels more like home.

Thanks for the compliments! I like to photograph the city at night, next to riding it's my favorite thing to do. And they both go very well together. Well drinking goes in there somewhere.

I'll post more of my favorite spots soon.
nice shot of the Amtrak diesel pit!

I also like riding across the bridge on Diversey near Logan Blvd. At night it's a lovely view of the skyline.

I love those "I love this city!" moments. :)
I agree. I was just over there yesterday. On Damen, between Diversey and Fullerton, is also a great view!
