The lakefront path was clear from North through Wilson yesterday evening.
As of this morning, the Lakefront Path is basically clear from Monroe Harbor through Hyde Park. I actually took my road bike out on the Path this weekend.
I rode out to Gulf and Harms on Sunday and the North Branch path was impassible due to snow cover. I will probably be passible this weekend from the melting.
Fullerton pavement is open and clear. Oak Street is mostly ridable with the exception of 10 or 20 yards where snow and ice still reign and best to walk, but not impossible to ride that too. I rode from out to 71st (and then to 100th) and back to Wilson on the trail this morn. :)
I just walked the trail from Oakton almost to Dempster. The few glimpses of asphalt were exceptions. most of the trail was snow packed into ice.
do you do this to commute or just to ride? I am looking for some riding partners who like to do that kind of distance a couple times a week.

Just ride. I went down today to check out the site of the Half Acre Crit Series This month. A nice little loop down in Calumet Park. Those might be some fun little races.

Anyone know when the the city is going to put on the portions of the lakefront path that's been scrapped down?

Also, it looks like the flintstone mobiles are back on the path.  I've already sighted one of them this afternoon.

The first 6.5 miles of the NBT from Devon were clear today.  No snow or ice, a few more twigs than normal, but otherwise perfect.
Did the North Shore Channel Trail/McCormick Trail to Church in Evanston yesterday. Totally clear.  I do prefer the forests of the NBT but was going to Turin's Veloptopia.

Won't be done until late April at the earliest

Asphalt plants in Illinois don't start until April 15th, or so I heard.

Last year they fixed the winter damage by sometime in May.

Not sure the best place to post this but wanted to update for anyone who might be interested.

McCormick Trail thru Evanston/Skokie was being cleared at 8am this morning. Up to Church.
