Insurers must provide coverage to cyclists, pedestrians hit by uninsured drivers, Illinois Supreme Court rules

So if you own a car and have insurance, your own insurance must cover you.  But if you don't own a car and travel by bicycle or public transportation you're SOL and this court ruling does you no good at all.

If you ride a bike where can you buy insurance with uninsured motorist protection?

Velosurance 

They also do motorcycle insurance through their parent company.
